Prague's Sherlock Holmes


One of the many films which will highlighted in Volume 3 of "Sherlock Holmes on Screens (1960-1969). Based on an Eduard Bass humorous short story, a small comedy tells about the role that knowledge of beer quality can play in a criminal investigation. A young maid (Iva Janžurová) walks through old Prague with a pitcher of beer. She sees the thief, frightened and flees from him. She doesn't know much about Prague yet, she recently came from the countryside, so she gets lost. They can't get their word out of the police station, it turns out that they don't even know the address of the gentlemen they serve. However, the police forces will manage and, depending on the quality of the beer, a pub will eventually be found and a robber will then be tracked down.
