I'm really curious to know what you think about the performance of this Hollywood Legend in the part of Holmes. OK, the TV Movie is very Cheap ! Ok, the moor is smallest than a garden in town. Ok , London is composed with the sets of the "Universal village" and seem issued from "The Wolf Man" with Lon Chaney JR. But, personnaly, I like Granger ("Scaramouche" !) in the part. My only regret is Granger was became to old (and a litle to chubby). But I dream of a major Sherlockian movie with Granger in the fifties.
Sorry for my broken English: I'm Belgian. :-)
But, really, I love Granger. And also Bernard Fo, who plays a Watson Funny but not stupid. :-) And the great John, Williams (the actor who played for Hitchcock or Billy Wilder, not the musician) ... and then, of course, dear Captain Kirk. :-) This production is one of my "guilty pleasures". :-)
In the TV movie, there are also some mate paintings which are very beautiful.... during the first part. For the rest: welcome to the cardboard rocks and the painted sky (in black and white, maybe beautiful, but in color ...) :-)
I admit that Granger hairstyle (which hasn't changed since the early sixties is so suspicious... it must be a wig) :-) But he is surpassed by Sir Henry and his almost hippie look (Said the man with a yard of hair ! )😂
He wants to test the "cream Bourdaloue" (at 11:00). Hum ... Sorry. Granger? Yep. What's the name of the hairdresser on the set? ...
